Let me teach you guys how whales make money. (read full article)
They don't lose money unlike normal folks who keep long position for long time. Whales tend to enter soon and exit soon.
So what whales do and how they make money?
Step 1: Whales first try to find some low float coin or the one which did not rally past few days.
Step 2: they now ensure that coin is in futures segment. They start to take high leverage and open many positions but ensuring price doesn't move much. ( such things can be easily found if people check long to short ratio. But most people don't
Step 3: now with sufficient long positions they start to pump up the coin on spot market atleast 20-30% up..
Step 4: along side they start to close their future positions which are at much higher leverage.
Step 5: once the most of future positions are closed, they start to dump at spot market. Catch here is that despite sometimes bearing loss in spot market, they are still at massive profits due to high leverage positions which they closed at futures market.

When to EXIT altcoins?
This is my plan. Not financial advice.
The chart is pretty much self-explanatory, but here are some thoughts:
1. On the RSI (monthly timeframe), we're around 70. History shows us that when we close above this level, we see the largest growth of the bull run.
2. When we close above the previous ATH, we print a high, well above the 70 mark on RSI. Then, we see a correction. Afterward, we run again, higher, printing another high on price BUT a lower high on the RSI. This is called divergence. A divergence shows weakness. Yes, the price moved higher, but there isn't much gas left.
3. As soon as we print the second top while observing a divergence, the top is confirmed when the RSI slope turns down (starts pointing down) - "best time to sell" - indicated by the black vertical line on my chart.
4. Then, we enter a bear market. History shows that the RSI goes below 50 and stays there for a couple of months - the best time to buy/accumulate.
5. After that phase, the RSI goes back above 50 - the first phase of a bull market. Then, it rises above 70, and the cycle repeats.
