The trader made a profit of $1 million thanks to Elon Musk's message about Troll
A cryptocurrency trader who invested $10,000 in the Troll meme coin recently made a profit of over $1.03 million using Elon Musk's updated bio on social network X (formerly Twitter*).
On January 9, Musk changed his profile description to “CTO or Chief Troll Officer” and posted a message containing a similar phrase without further explanation.
A resourceful trader took advantage of this and turned a losing investment into a profitable position in a short period of time. According to Lookonchain, a trader noticed Musk's profile change and quickly withdrew 4,313 ETH ($10,113) from Binance.
Using 4.3 ETH, he purchased 19.37 trillion TROLL tokens and sold 9.37 trillion TROLL for 5.318 ETH ($12,467), recouping his initial investment. The trader now owns 10 trillion TROLL, which is currently valued at $1.03 million.
