$DOGE Mr. Trump chooses billionaire Elon Musk to co-lead the "Department of Government Efficiency"
Elected president Donald Trump announced that billionaire Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the new "Department of Government Efficiency" of the United States.
"I am very pleased to announce that the great Elon Musk, in partnership with patriotic American Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Together, these two great Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle the government's bureaucracy, cut unnecessary regulations, reduce wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies, which is essential for the 'Save America' movement," elected president Donald Trump said in a press release on November 12.
Mr. Trump believes that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) could become "the Manhattan Project of our time."
"This will shake the entire system, and anyone involved in government waste, which involves a lot of people!" Mr. Trump stated.
According to Mr. Trump, Republican politicians have been "dreaming about the goals of 'DOGE' for a very long time."
"To drive this bold change, the Department of Government Efficiency will provide advice and guidance from outside the government, will collaborate with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to promote large-scale structural reforms and create an approach to government never seen before," Mr. Trump stated.
The elected president expects billionaire Elon, owner of SpaceX and Tesla, along with billionaire Vivek, to "make changes to the federal bureaucracy aimed at efficiency and improving the lives of all Americans."
"It is important that we eliminate the massive waste and fraud present in our $6.5 trillion annual government spending. They will work together to unleash our economy and hold the U.S. government accountable to the people," Mr. Trump emphasized.
"Their work will conclude no later than July 4, 2026, a smaller, more efficient, and less bureaucratic government will be the perfect gift for America on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence," Mr. Trump added, expressing confidence that Mr. Elon and Mr. Vivek will succeed.
Billionaire Musk once claimed he would save $2 trillion for American taxpayers if Mr. Trump won. Previously, Mr. Musk warned about America's debt situation, suggesting that the country was at risk of bankruptcy if spending was not curtailed.
In the Republican presidential candidate's campaign, billionaire Musk did everything to support Mr. Trump, including donating over $100 million and appearing at campaign rallies. In previous election seasons, Mr. Musk often voted for and donated to Democratic candidates but this year he switched to the Republican Party.
