Buterin vs. Bribery: A New Tool for DAO
Vitalik Buterin and his team from Cornell have taken on the task of protecting DAO voting from bribe-takers. Attackers have found a way to tip the scales in their favor by offering money for the necessary votes. To counter this, Vitalik and his team have come up with a new PoCK protocol.
The idea is simple: when voting, everyone uses two keys - a public one for identification and a private one for creating a proof. The private key hides how exactly the participant voted, making it more difficult for hackers. A smart contract checks the uniqueness of the proof to eliminate fraud.
Now DAO voting will become even more reliable and transparent.
