Buterin vs. Bribery: A New Tool for DAO

Vitalik Buterin and his team from Cornell have taken on the task of protecting DAO voting from bribe-takers. Attackers have found a way to tip the scales in their favor by offering money for the necessary votes. To counter this, Vitalik and his team have come up with a new PoCK protocol.

The idea is simple: when voting, everyone uses two keys - a public one for identification and a private one for creating a proof. The private key hides how exactly the participant voted, making it more difficult for hackers. A smart contract checks the uniqueness of the proof to eliminate fraud.

Now DAO voting will become even more reliable and transparent.

Vitalik Buterin's Address Transferred $8M in Ethereum

On August 9, the address vitalik.eth associated with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin moved 3,000 ETH (~$7.9 million). This was reported by Lookonchain.

The developer sent the funds to a multisig wallet. He received these assets on August 5 from another address affiliated with him, Vb 3.

Analysts have suggested that the 3,000 ETH are intended for charity. In October 2023, Buterin said that any transfers from his wallet are "almost always some kind of donation."
