According to Odaily, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently shared his thoughts on the X platform regarding gas fee reductions. Buterin suggested a deep yet selective approach to lowering gas fees, aiming to enhance the network's efficiency without compromising critical metrics.

Buterin proposed reducing the gas costs for all EVM opcodes currently in the 2-5 range to 1 and those in the 6-10 range to 2. Additionally, he recommended decreasing the gas cost of log operations by four times and lowering the gas costs for precompiled contracts, except for those planned for deprecation. He believes that these changes could potentially increase the transactions per second (TPS) by 1.5 times without negatively impacting key worst-case scenario metrics such as calldata size and IO.
