The @Ethereum Foundation has announced the launch of the #Mekong testnet as a step towards the #PectraUpgrade fork on the #Ethereum network. Mekong integrates all proposed Ethereum Investment Proposals (EIPs) for Pectra, which include improvements in user experience, staking, and deposit and exit mechanisms. Designed as an experimental platform, Mekong allows wallet developers and stakers to test these updates before they are implemented on Ethereum's mainnet, anticipated in Q1 2025. Mekong operates independently of other test networks like #Holesky or #sepolia , though it will inform the Pectra upgrade rollout across Ethereum’s networks.
