Ryan Berckmans, a member of the Ethereum community, argues that Solana is unlikely to become a global blockchain standard.
He gave 5 arguments:
Lack of client diversity - Solana has only one active client, while Ethereum has four, providing fault tolerance;
High bandwidth requirements - Solana requires 10 Gbps, which limits decentralization;
Risks of network outages - Solana is prone to failures, while Ethereum is more resilient;
Lack of economic decentralization - 98% of tokens are distributed among insiders;
Limited support for decentralization and neutrality - Solana's architecture does not allow for the same levels of trust neutrality as Ethereum.
