#TetherUSD IS UNDER INVESTIGATION! 🚨 FUD Or REAL? 👇
The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. authorities are investigating Tether (USDT) for a potential violations of anti-money laundering and sanctions laws. However, the ether CEO Paolo Ardoino just tweeted that "there is no indication that Tether is under investigation. WSJ is regurgitating old noise". So, shall we FUD? Tether assets are backed by U.S. Treasury bills managed by Cantor Fitzgerald and although it has been under scrutiny for its $100 billion reserves, Tether has consistently maintained its peg and liquidity.
In my opinion, news like this often causes market FUD! In fact, Bitcoin’s price just dipped. This usually benefit certain traders or entities by creating panic selling. Personally, until further details are confirmed, I will treat this as unverified information with some merit based on Tether’s history.
