The#LEGOwebsite was hacked to promote a fake cryptocurrency, misleading users into purchasing fraudulent tokens with #Ethereum.

The company quickly removed the fraudulent banner and assured customers that no accounts had been compromised and that preventative measures were being taken.

The incident highlights a trend where scammers are using well-known brands to deceive users.

In June 2024, hackers similarly breached the Ethereum Foundation's emails, targeting nearly 36,000 subscribers, and the official Metallica X account was used to promote a scam token, earning around $10 million in trades.

While LEGO did not provide details on how exactly the hack occurred, it is likely that it involved organized groups, potentially taking advantage of a misconfigured web application firewall or vulnerabilities in external services.
