Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of #Ethereum, is in the spotlight today for a major crypto deal involving the sale of various meme coins and USDT to convert them into #ETH.

The tokens were sent to his wallet by developers over the past year. On October 5, Buterin sold several assets, receiving about $341,000 in ETH.

According to #Lookonchain, the sale included 11.76 billion#Moodengtokens, 70.72 million#Neirotokens, 7.8 million#Degentokens, and 16 billion#Kabosutokens, as well as his entire#USDTbalance, netting him a total of 140.67 ETH.

Shortly after the deal, Buterin donated 100 ETH to the Free Alexey and Roman initiative, a campaign to support legal defense for the Tornado Cash developers.

It’s unclear whether the donation came from these specific sales, but it’s consistent with Buterin’s ongoing practice of using meme coin proceeds for charitable causes. Earlier this year, he sold animal-themed tokens and donated over $500,000 ETH to the Animal Welfare Fund.

Buterin has publicly expressed disappointment at receiving unsolicited tokens and prefers that meme coin creators donate funds directly to charity.

He also called on the crypto community to focus on developing tokens with real-world uses, rather than just coins for speculation.
