OpenSea: Can you tell us a little bit about your artistic style and the main themes you explore in your artwork?
Hun: Currently, I am mainly focusing on pixel art, and with Primitives at different stages of development, my work aims to bring to life artistic characters that resonate with crypto culture by using a style that strives for beauty, simplicity, and classic/retro effects.
OpenSea: Can you walk us through your creative process when developing an NFT series or work?
Hun: I love this question. For me, the quality of the creative process is the most important part when creating. I usually try to distance myself from external artistic influences or market trends. Instead, I find myself in a more intimate state, which helps me connect with my own creative expression in a clearer way, which results in a rewarding personal experience. I firmly believe that we all have a creative side that needs to be focused on, and this is what I try to do.
OpenSea: Can you talk about any unique challenges or opportunities you encounter when creating art, especially in the digital realm of NFTs?
Hun: The biggest challenge about developing my art in the NFT digital space is definitely the pursuit of originality. We are part of a field that is constantly showing us new results, and sometimes it seems that everything has been explored. This is where the real challenge lies in standing out and truly creating something new.
As for the opportunity, it is a huge opportunity. Technology and the digital age can help us become a window to the world. The ease of reaching people is unparalleled.
OpenSea: What inspired you to create on Base? How do you think Base’s features will benefit your artistic expression?
Hun: I usually develop my work on Ethereum Layer1, but Gas does demotivate users, which is where Base comes in with its technology and solutions, but beyond that, I think Base is a new ecosystem that brings a breath of fresh air to NFTs and cryptocurrencies.
I see it as a new form of building, with big names and smaller users closer together, and I believe all of this helps foster a more positive environment and redefine the values of crypto culture, and there is no doubt that I see a very prosperous future for Base, and I am here to continue to be an active part of it.
OpenSea: How has blockchain technology influenced or changed the way you create art?
Hun: The biggest impact blockchain technology has had on my art is that it has opened my mind to digital art and creating series of works rather than just single unique pieces, which has brought me many new challenges - the creation of original features, meaningful order of rarity, consistency of the overall collection, and work done for the community, which are the most important.
OpenSea: How do you plan to engage with your audience through NFTs on OpenSea? Are there interactive elements or community-driven aspects to your work?
Hun: This is another very important aspect when I create work, my intention is to not only give collectors the opportunity to own a piece, but also to go beyond the ordinary.
For example, currently, I am developing the second phase of Primitives, where OG collectors will have the opportunity to generate new NFT pieces by actively participating in the selection of certain characteristics before the final result using an interactive dApp. To be clear, the second phase is exclusive and only available to holders of the first Primitives series.
OpenSea: What future developments in the NFT space excite you most, and how do you plan to incorporate these developments into your future projects?
Hun: With the accelerating advancements in technology, tools for developing art, and AI, my biggest motivation at the moment is to ensure that my future projects retain classic, simple, and retro art. In this regard, I am very excited to see how the vision of pixel art will evolve over time. However, I am also very open and interested in continuing to learn about leveraging technology to support art.
OpenSea: What advice would you give to artists who are just entering the NFT space and are considering launching their first digital collectible?
Hun: Three suggestions:
Create it for yourself, and if it resonates with your community, even better;
Remember, everyone is critical these days, be mindful of your reputation on social media;
Whether we like it or not, cryptocurrencies work in cycles, so be patient and wait for the auspicious timing.
OpenSea: Where do you think digital art and NFTs will go in the next five years? How do you hope to contribute to this future?
Hun: With the rapid adoption of cryptocurrency we’ve seen recently, I see digital art and NFTs continuing to enter more sectors until they become a normal part of our society, and my contribution will remain the same: creating with originality, developing my work with a solid ethical foundation, and providing digital experiences for my collectors.
