#BIS plans to use wholesale CBDC for instant cross-border payments and settlements
It is worth considering that although #CBDC are equated 1 to 1 in terms of the fiat denomination of the corresponding currency, they are legally free from old debts, since they are a separate new unit of account.
It is also legally stipulated for some CBDCs (for example, digital ruble and digital yuan, and possibly others) that they cannot be used in schemes with loan interest. That is, it is actually clear that the new CBDC is moving away from the debt problems that countries have accumulated expressed in fiat (remember the US treasuries that “fed” almost all the economies of the world).
