A Visa, one of the largest payments companies in the world, announced a new feature that promises to facilitate the way in which cryptocurrencies are used. The new feature allows users to convert bitcoin and cryptocurrencies directly into fiat currencies, such as reais or dollars, without the need to use a broker.
According to the startup Transak, a Visa partner that developed the functionality, cryptocurrency holders can now make use of their digital assets in more than 130 million commercial establishments around the world that accept payments with Visa cards.
In short, the feature eliminates the need for a centralized exchange for converting cryptocurrencies. Thus, Visa customers in 145 countries can now convert more than 40 different types of digital assets into fiat currency faster.
