For eight months, weekly unemployment claims have been at their lowest level in the US.

Claims have fallen by 9,000 to 211,000 and unpaid claims have fallen sharply in some states like California and Texas, and increased sharply in others like Michigan and New Jersey.

This drop in demand is due to low support for the level of layoffs by companies and a very open labor market after covid.
