How many traders actually make a profit each year?
Why do most new traders fail?
Do most traders lose money in all markets?
What percentage of new traders will quit trading in the first year?
Meet Bob, a guy who loses money trading stocks. It's no wonder, since 80% of traders quit trading in the first year, and only 1.6% actually make a profit after paying commissions by the end of the year.
Most lose because they don't really understand how the markets work, what drives stock and commodity price movements, or how to balance risk and reward. They also lack the discipline to follow a strategy and instead turn trading into a game of chance.
Even experienced traders aren't much better than Bob. A study from the University of California analyzed 2 million trades made by investors and found that their returns would have been higher if they had simply picked random stocks.
By the way, speaking of so-called "trading courses", why do successful traders sell their courses and private consultations if they can make millions trading stocks? The reason is that they cannot consistently make a profit and are forced to earn by teaching someone like Bob.
The vast majority of traders eventually lose money in all markets — be it stocks, commodities, currencies, or cryptocurrencies.
From November 7 to December 21, my capital grew from 1.99 million to 6 million.
