According to TechFlow, on November 11, according to the Bangkok Post, a Ukrainian man told the police that he was forced to transfer more than 8 million baht worth of cryptocurrency to a group of armed men while visiting his friend's room. Viacheslav Leibov, 23, said at the police station on Sunday that his 18-year-old Ukrainian friend Alfred Chernyshuk invited him to his friend's room at about 10:45 p.m. on Friday. At the entrance to his friend's residence, a 21-year-old Armenian man, Arman Grigoryan, received Leibov and took him into the room. The victim initially talked to these people on the balcony of the room. Later, he needed to use the bathroom. When he opened the bathroom door, he found two masked men waiting for him inside. Mr. Leibov said he asked the bandits to halve the ransom. After completing the transfer of 250,000 USDT, the bandits tied him to the bed, warned him not to report the case, and then packed up and left the scene. The victim said he eventually managed to save himself. Mr Leibov said he immediately went to Phuket Airport on his motorbike but did not see one of the suspects. He then reported the incident to the police station.
