What is Contentos (COS)? A blockchain platform for digital content
Contentos is a blockchain platform aimed at creating a decentralized ecosystem encompassing ContentFi, SocialFi, Metaverse, and AI services. Contentos' long-term vision is to build an open and fair service system based on users' content creation on social media platforms.
Contentos blockchain and product structure
Contentos has launched version 2.0, which combines the Beacon and Shard structures. In Contentos 2.0, all nodes must participate in the Beacon network. A Beacon node can join one or more Shards. Shard nodes must maintain both the state data of the Beacon and the state data of their respective Shard simultaneously, achieving efficient data synchronization and consensus mechanisms, enhancing the overall performance of the network.
COS staking validating nodes
Validating nodes are a key component of the Contentos blockchain. Validating nodes are operated by individuals or organizations who validate transactions and generate new blocks based on the number of COS tokens they stake. Currently, the Contentos blockchain has 21 validating nodes, including Binance and EOS. All validating nodes receive rewards for validating transactions for the network.
Additionally, regular users can earn returns by staking COS tokens to validating nodes, in which users are referred to as voters. After staking, COS tokens will automatically convert to VEST tokens at a 1:1 ratio and be allocated to the validating node. Users can receive VEST tokens every Thursday and exchange them back for COS tokens to earn returns.
Example:
Assuming you staked 3,512,148 COS tokens to a validating node named cosofficialbp5, becoming its voter and earning returns. After staking, COS tokens will automatically convert to VEST and be allocated to that node. If there are a total of 14,207 voters and 35,121,489 VEST tokens in the cosofficialbp5 node, including your staked tokens, you can earn about 8,456 VEST tokens as returns every Thursday.
Steps to become a voter
To become a voter on the Contentos network, you can visit https://cos.tv/v2/wallet/vest/bp-vote, select the validating node you wish to support, and stake.
Notes: Some validating nodes do not distribute rewards to voters, including the following nodes:
• bithumbstake1
• bithumbstake2
• bithumbstake3
• binancestake1
• binancestake2
• binancestake3
• binancestake4
• raiblocks2
• livemebp
Before selecting a validating node, it is recommended to check the reward policies of each node to ensure your staking can generate returns.
COS.TV
COS.TV is a decentralized video sharing platform built on the Contentos blockchain. Users can upload, watch, and share videos on the platform and earn revenue through ads, donations, and content staking.
Channel VIP
Channel VIP is a new product launched by Contentos in the fourth quarter of 2023, allowing content creators to establish exclusive channels to earn revenue and interact with fans. For example, creators can publish content release plans through Channel VIP, send exclusive messages to VIP users, conduct high-quality content discussions, and incentivize fan participation through rewards.
To join Channel VIP, users need to purchase a pass (PASS), which is an entry ticket to join the creator's private group. Additionally, the development team plans to transform the VIP Channel into a Web3 SocialFi trading platform and provide the following features for content creators:
Issue and sell BRC-20 tokens
Loans based on BRC-20 tokens
Create tasks for fans and airdrop NFTs
COS.SPACE
COS.SPACE is a metaverse product within the Contentos ecosystem, launched in 2022. It is a 3D virtual space platform that allows users to create, own, and experience diverse virtual products and services.
The main features and services of COS.SPACE include:
Art exhibitions: Users can organize and participate in virtual art exhibitions in COS.SPACE
Live events: Users can participate in and organize virtual seminars, conferences, and concerts
Games: COS.SPACE provides 3D gaming features
Social network: Users can interact with friends and communities in virtual spaces
