Nicolas Cage has called on young actors to resist pressure from employers and to fight the use of AI and EBDR to change or manipulate their performances. He made this statement on stage at the 25th Newport Beach Film Festival, Deadline writes.

EBDRs allow a digital copy of an actor to be created with his participation. For example, a “rejuvenated” Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford in the 2023 film Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny.

"Studios want to be able to edit your face after the fact. They can change your face, your voice, your lines, your body language, your performance," Cage said.

The Hollywood actor previously said that his cameo as Superman in the 2023 film The Flash was nothing like what he played.

"It's inhumane. There can be nothing more inhumane than artificial intelligence," he noted.

Cage urged young actors to push studios to preserve their face, voice, body, imagination and performance during filming.

Recall that in July, Cage expressed concern about the prospects of using artificial intelligence in Hollywood.

That same month, video game voice actors and motion capture workers went on strike after negotiations over worker rights over the use of AI failed.
