The cryptocurrency Goatseus Maximus (#GOAT ) experienced a 50% drop in value in a single day due to suspicions that the "Terminal of Truth" account on X was not entirely controlled by artificial intelligence as initially claimed.

Who Controls the Terminal of Truth?

In March 2024, developer Andy Ayrey launched a project called “The Infinite Backrooms”, a continuous conversation between two AI models named Claude-3-Opus. By June 2024, Ayrey used the conversation's content to develop a new AI that interacts with users on X (formerly Twitter), known as "Terminal of Truth."

GOAT is a #memecoin🚀🚀🚀 running on the Solana network. Although it wasn’t directly created by the Terminal, the token’s promotion caught significant attention. Prominent cryptocurrency investor Arthur Hayes even predicted that GOAT could reach a market capitalization of $1 billion.

Recently, however, the Terminal of Truth made a typo in one of its posts, raising doubts about whether the account was truly AI-controlled. This incident caused the GOAT price to fall from $0.40 to $0.20.

Price Partially Recovers After Clarification

After Ayrey clarified the situation, the GOAT token’s price partially recovered to $0.33. He explained that typos are common with AI language models, as they try to predict the next sequence of text. When reading long posts on Twitter, AI can start mimicking mistakes it observes during a session.

What Does the "Terminal of Truth" Represent?

Ayrey further clarified that the "Terminal of Truth" represents the interaction between two AI models responding to audience feedback. This allows it to develop new and unique ideas. Ayrey also revealed that he owns 1.25 million GOAT tokens and plans to give some away to his friends and AI researchers.

Other Memecoins from Infinite Backrooms

In addition to the GOAT token, the community also discovered other memecoins within the “Infinite Backrooms”, such as ANDY70B, FARTCOIN, and OPUS. These tokens were mentioned by the "Terminal of Truth," but no one knows their creators or any tokenomics details yet.
