💸 HBO Reveals the Real Creator of Bitcoin

On the night of October 8-9, HBO premiered the film "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery." The filmmakers revealed the identity of the developer behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin.

The identity of Satoshi Nakamoto has been one of the greatest mysteries in the cryptocurrency industry. The list of suspected candidates included Nick Szabo, Hal Finney, Dorian Nakamoto, and Craig Wright. From time to time, new figures like Elon Musk were added to the mix.

According to the film's authors, the person behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto is Peter Todd—a Canadian developer who has been actively involved in Bitcoin's development since 2010.

Peter contributed significantly to the technical improvements of the network. He developed key proposals, such as Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 125 (BIP 125), and introduced the Replace-by-Fee concept, which helped speed up crypto transaction processing.

However, the crypto community has criticized HBO's version. For example, the BitMEX team noted that the filmmakers did not provide any substantial evidence linking Todd to Bitcoin’s creation. Even Peter himself denies being Satoshi.
