On October 18, Naguará Satoshi, an initiative of a new Bitcoiner and educational community in Venezuela, will hold its first meetup in Barquisimeto, with the aim of introducing young university students to the world of Bitcoin. The event will take place at the headquarters of the Universidad Simón Rodríguez (UNESR), strategically selected for its large student population, and is aimed exclusively at students of this university.

A space to learn about Bitcoin

Naguará Satoshi was born with the mission of awakening curiosity and interest in Bitcoin as a financial and technological tool, especially among the new generations, taking inspiration from iconic communities such as Satoshi in Venezuela and My First Bitcoin. In this first meeting, Franklin Roldán, founder of the project and with an extensive career in the crypto industry, will offer a talk about the practical possibilities that Bitcoin offers in the Venezuelan context, as well as its potential to create decentralized financial solutions.

"The objective of this series of meetups is to present in a practical way what Bitcoin is and how it can be used as an everyday tool, especially in an environment like Venezuela. We want to encourage students to get involved through knowledge, encouraging them to develop projects and solutions based on the principles of Bitcoin," said Franklin Roldán.

A project with a vision for the future

This event is just the beginning of a series of activities planned at different universities and spaces in Barquisimeto and its surroundings. The Naguará Satoshi initiative aims to expand knowledge about Bitcoin beyond financial and technical circles, seeking to reach young people and create a movement that encourages the daily use of Bitcoin as a tool to face the current economic challenges in Venezuela.

For this first meetup, important projects such as Money On Chain and Wallet of Satoshi have offered their support, reinforcing the purpose of this initiative to explore the potential of Bitcoin in terms of innovation for the development of products and services in Venezuela, similar to what happens in countries such as Argentina.

Why UNESR Barquisimeto?

The choice of Universidad Simón Rodríguez, specifically its headquarters in Barquisimeto, is not a coincidence. With more than 9,000 students, this university concentrates more than 30% of the university population of the state of Lara. In addition, its recent announcement of courses oriented to digital finance and digital economy makes it an ideal place to launch the first Naguará Satoshi meetup.

Franklin Roldán believes it is crucial that students not only learn about Bitcoin, but see it as a tool for change that they can apply in both their professional and personal lives. Roberto García, coordinator of UNESR Barquisimeto, also highlights the importance of these events for the academic and professional development of students, especially those who study in new technological and financial areas.

Projection and next steps

The first Naguará Satoshi meetup is just the beginning of an agenda that promises to expand to other universities and community spaces. The goal is clear: to form a community around Bitcoin, motivating students and young professionals to explore, learn and innovate.

This first event is aimed exclusively at UNESR Barquisimeto students, but future meetings will be held in different environments, seeking to create a local ecosystem that favors the development of projects linked to Bitcoin and decentralized finance.
