A recent fact that has caught attention is the recent announcement by #Uniswap Labs saying that it is building its own layer 2 network (#Layer2 ), which will be fast, cheap and have a lot of liquidity.
The developer behind Uniswap's #DEX said that he plans to launch his own #Blockchain as a layer 2 network built on #Ethereum , with certain features that would benefit users.
According to a press release , this new layer 2 network will be called UNIchain and the launch of its testnet has already been announced.
With this new news, the price of the UNI token has skyrocketed more than 15% in the last few hours, overshadowing other tokens in the cryptocurrency market. Will the UNI token now have a real use? đ€.
According to what they mention, this network will be focused on the DeFi ecosystem, but honestly, do we need new layer 2s? Scroll is another layer 2 network that is just going to release its token in a few days and the Swell layer 2 network has already been announced (whose token was also confirmed).
