According to U.Today, Cardano developer Input Output Global (IOG) recently highlighted a statement by Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, suggesting that a nation-state could operate on the Cardano blockchain by 2030. Hoskinson made this prediction during his keynote address titled 'After Voltaire: The Next Evolution of Cardano.' He expressed confidence in the significant advancements expected on the Cardano blockchain within the next six years.

On September 1, 2024, Cardano achieved a significant milestone by successfully executing the Chang hard fork #1, marking a crucial step towards decentralized governance. The second controlled Chang hard fork is anticipated to complete Cardano's transition to the Voltaire era. The current roadmap includes a prerelease of Cardano node v10 for testing, with the process to implement the Chang upgrade set to begin in November 2024. This phase is critical for Cardano’s governance evolution, and Hoskinson believes it will have a global impact.

In a recent blog post, Input Output Global shared an excerpt from an earlier video by Hoskinson discussing the Chang upgrade and its significance for Cardano's future. Hoskinson emphasized that Cardano is designed to operate on a long-term scale, potentially influencing economic, political, and social systems worldwide. He stated that if Cardano continues on its current path, it could become the blockchain that the world relies on for justice and progress.

Hoskinson also shared his vision of a future where Cardano's institutions and governance are robust, ensuring a better tomorrow. He recounted his travels to 74 countries in pursuit of his Cardano dream, meeting passionate and enthusiastic individuals. Looking ahead, he expressed excitement about visiting 100 countries over the next decade and seeing Cardano running nation-states, a goal he is determined to achieve.
