According to Jinshi Data, the eurozone inflation rate fell further below the ECB's target in September, revised down from the initial value, consolidating expectations that ECB policymakers will cut interest rates at their meeting on Thursday.

Revised data released by the European Statistical Office on Thursday showed that the euro zone's final annual CPI rate in September was 1.7%, lower than the initial estimate of 1.8%.

It was the first time since June 2021 that inflation has fallen below the ECB’s 2% target. The September data appeared to suggest policymakers can begin to claim victory in their 2-1/2-year battle to tame stubbornly high inflation.
