After a lot of twists and turns, after throwing in thirty thousand yuan, I finally woke up. The following are the lessons I bought with real money:
When trading contracts, position control is extremely important! I must say, the margin ratio must not exceed 20%. This way, if the market has a minor fluctuation, I still have money to hold on, and I won't be taken away by the market because of too heavy a position.
The stop-loss price is my lifeline! I used to stubbornly hold on, and by the time I had to liquidate, I had already lost everything. Therefore, the stop-loss price must be set in advance, established right at the beginning of the trade, and strictly executed. No hesitation; hesitation leads to a bigger pit.
The stop-loss price also cannot be set too rigidly; there must be some leeway, and it should be set a little higher than the liquidation price. Otherwise, if the market has a slight stir, the stop-loss will be pointless. I understand now; the stop-loss price must be at least 10% higher than the liquidation price to be safe. Also, if the stop-loss price is too close to the opening price, say within 2-3%, then it’s better to withdraw quickly or change the direction of trading.
When the market rises, don’t be foolish and stubbornly short; that’s asking for death. Even if you feel that the coin price is absurdly high, don’t easily enter a short position. We can wait for opportunities, but the stop-loss must be set well. Once something feels off, get out immediately.
When trading, stay calm, don’t get carried away! Even if you see the right direction, don’t blindly leverage; if the market rebounds slightly, you could get liquidated. Remember, slow work produces fine products; stability is key.
Ultimately, opening contracts is about making quick money, but once you’re on this fast train, don’t think about stepping on the gas again.
