An unusual press conference in London recently reignited speculation about the true identity of Bitcoin's mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Economist Stephen Mollah stepped forward, claiming to be the real Satoshi. Mollah had hinted at this revelation before, suggesting he had been previously "prevented" from coming forward. However, only a small gathering of journalists attended, and the documents he presented failed to impress most of those present.
The press conference was held exactly 16 years after Satoshi's whitepaper introduced Bitcoin, with a promise that Satoshi’s identity would be unveiled at the iconic Frontline Club in London. BBC journalist Joe Tidy was on the scene and provided insights into the event. Due to technical issues, Mollah's laptop initially malfunctioned, delaying his display of "proof" that he is Satoshi. When he eventually shared some files, they failed to convince attendees.
In response to a question about moving Bitcoins from the Genesis block, Mollah replied that he would need more time to prepare, hinting at another, more organized event where he could potentially provide stronger evidence.
