Aptos Foundation has collaborated with South Korea’s SK Telecom to bring Tether’s USDT USDT $1.00 24h volatility: 0.2% Market cap: $120.38 B Vol. 24h: $58.14 B stablecoin into SK Telecom’s T wallet. This initiative will offer over 30 million users access to the USDT stablecoin on a high-performance blockchain, providing near-instant and cost-efficient digital transactions powered by Aptos.
According to the release, the collaboration will mark the first use of the Move programming language to host USDT, which will help make access to digital currency more global through Aptos’ high-performance and secure infrastructure. With T wallet integrated into the PASS app, users can access stablecoins via familiar web2 login features, simplifying digital currency adoption and offering users a seamless entry into blockchain-based financial tools.
Aptos and SK Telecom Drive Blockchain Adoption in Digital Finance
The collaboration is also expected to make stablecoin ideal for micro- and large-scale payments. By leveraging the Move programming language, Aptos has improved its performance. This is expected to bolster global access to USDT and appeal to developers, opening doors for new tools and applications on Aptos.
SK Telecom’s adoption of Aptos aligns with a growing financial trend where leading institutions explore blockchain. Industry players such as Franklin Templeton, Ondo Finance, and Libre have recently integrated their financial products on the Aptos platform, marking the blockchain as a key player in real-world asset tokenization and digital finance. The Aptos Foundation aims to establish its network as a foundational element for future-ready finance by fostering these connections.
