According to an Associated Press report on October 26, Pakistani police stated that a suicide attack occurred at a checkpoint in the northwest of the country on the same day, resulting in the deaths of four security personnel and injuring five others.
The report quoted officer Amjad Kanand saying that the explosion took place on a rickshaw in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and the condition of the injured is critical.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is likely the work of the Pakistani Taliban, who target security personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The report also mentioned that Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the victims' families.
The report referred to another incident in which a remote-controlled bomb targeted a government convoy in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. There are currently no reports of casualties.
