Representatives from the Polymarket betting platform have identified a high-profile trader, commonly referred to as a "whale," who placed a total of $28 million on Donald Trump's election victory.

The trader, an unnamed French citizen with a background in finance and trading, managed four separate accounts under the aliases Fredi9999, Theo4, PrincessCaro, and Michie.

Concerns had been raised that such large bets on a single candidate could distort the perception of vote distribution, with some speculating that these bets might be placed with the intention of influencing the overall market.

Polymarket has since reached out to the individual, who confirmed that his positions are based purely on personal preferences, with no intent to manipulate or influence the election results.
