Ambitious Bitcoin Prediction: CryptoQuant CEO Suggests Bitcoin Could Become World Currency by 2030

Bitcoin's increasing acceptance within the corporate world, particularly with the introduction of Bitcoin ETFs in 2024, continues to strengthen its position. In a bold statement, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju predicts that Bitcoin could become the world's currency by 2030. This prediction, though controversial, aligns with the ongoing discussions among governments about utilizing Bitcoin for international trade due to its decentralized nature and continuous growth.

Ki Young Ju, known for his on-chain analysis expertise, made his statement on X (formerly Twitter), citing key indicators like Bitcoin’s mining difficulty as evidence of its progress. He emphasized that the mining difficulty has surged by 378% in the past three years, illustrating the intense competition and increasing barriers to entry. In contrast to 2009, when 50 BTC could be mined using a simple computer, today's mining operations are dominated by institutional investors with significant resources.

As these institutional investments grow, barriers to entry rise, which in turn reduces Bitcoin's volatility. Ju forecasts that by the 2028 Bitcoin halving event, the cryptocurrency will exhibit the lower volatility typically expected of a world currency, positioning it for even greater adoption in global markets.

This ambitious forecast has sparked discussions across the crypto community, particularly regarding the feasibility of Bitcoin evolving into a stable global medium of exchange.
