Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonymous individual or group credited with creating Bitcoin and writing its original whitepaper, published in 2008. Satoshi is responsible for implementing the first blockchain database, solving the double-spending problem, and introducing a decentralized peer-to-peer payment system. Nakamotoâs identity remains unknown, despite numerous attempts to uncover the real person or group behind the pseudonym. Satoshi was active in Bitcoinâs development until mid-2010, after which they disappeared, leaving the project in the hands of the open-source community.
