According to ChainCatcher, Christine Kim, vice president of research at Galaxy, summarized the 197th Ethereum core developer executive call to discuss changes to the Ethereum execution layer. Developers agreed to advance the Pectra upgrade to a limited extent, currently including only 8 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) on Devnet 3.

They also agreed that a set of 4 EIPs related to the Ethereum blob fee market may be included in Pectra during the upgrade planning process, with Vitalik expressing support for increasing blob capacity in Pectra, but other developers expressing opposition and no conclusion has been reached yet.

Other blob-related EIPs include EIP 7762 (increase MIN_BASE_FEE_PER_BLOB_GAS), EIP 7623 (increase call data cost), and EIP 7742 (separate blob counting between CL and EL).

Beiko confirmed that the next upgrade after Pectra will be named Fusaka and will include PeerDAS and EOF, with other EIPs possibly added in. Finally, Beiko said that a new EIP will be opened for the EL upgrade, named “Amsterdam”, and Verkle will be continued into the new Amsterdam EIP.
